Ofcom:
Regulator for the communications services
The regulatory body we depend on on a daily basis is called Ofcom. In oder to monitor TV and radio, we make sure costumers receive the most out of their mobile, home phone, and broadband services. The broadcasting code is divided into ten sections that are interconnected and provide programmers with more guidance on the code.
Section 1:Protecting the under eighteens
- Ofcom looks out for the public's safeguarding, and in this part, it focuses on protecting children under the age of 18. This enables kids to develop in a orderly manor while still respecting and keeping their innocence. It is important that I review these guidelines and standards while I make the final edit of the radio podcast. My writing must be PG-rated.
- Section 2:Harm and offence
- Keeping the standards of the radio project requires avoiding anything that can potentially offend or injure the listener, such as offensive material. It's really important to choose your words wisely while discussing social media-related subjects in order to avoid offending someone.
- Section 3:Crime, disorder, hatred and abuse
- Making sure that no server crime is being used in the radio, disorder, hostility, and abuse is discussed in this section. It draws attention to no criminal activity or disturbance should be taking place by the content, either directly or indirectly. For my radio project, I have to make sure that my content doesn't promote any actions that the listeners might take in the wrong way and feel offended.
- Section 4:Religion
- This section is important , in the views of practically everyone, religion is a big factor, and nobody wants to see or hear anything that is offensive to their religion or culture. For the safety and enjoyment of the public, Ofcom has laws and regulations that prevent these problems from occurring. I will make sure not to bring up topics related to gender, racism, or religion. Therefore won't have to worry about this particular section.
- Section 10: Commercial communications on radio
- This section is only applies for radio broadcasts. I makes sure that businesses communicate correctly to protect clients needs and wants. This is crucial because Ofcom cares about the safety of every consumer. Since I know that people will want to watch and listen for enjoyment to information, I need to know this so that my radio program can be coinvent for everyone so that no one feels offended and feels
- differently than i would want them to.
